Blogging Every Day in August: Life goals (Day 3)

Sarah at Yummy Mummy In Training has set herself a challenge of blogging every day in August and has listed her prompts. As my blogging is a bit hit and miss at the moment, I will be using her prompts to generate some ideas too.

Today's prompt is: Life goals

This is quite a difficult post for me, because I used to have so many goals in life and achieved quite a few.

However since my breakdown, I've struggled with pretty much everything. Some days my only goal is to still be alive at the end of the day. That may sound like a drastic statement, but depression is a harsh mistress, well actually a complete bitch!

List of current wants / wishes:
  • Continue to raise a happy, healthy kiddo.
  • Lose weight (family history of illnesses and wanting to be around and healthy for my daughter).
  • Quit smoking again (as above).
  • Be more active (although this is a double edged sword and I need to be careful of over doing it).
  • Finish current O.U. course and pass exam (previously that would have said with distinction or something, but to be honest now a pass is a pass. I'm (slowly) learning that perfection isn't necessary!).
  • Finish my degree.
  • Get back to writing.
  • Return to reading, one of the casualties of my depression is motivation and concentration, so for me, the girl who used have several books on the go at any time, is incredibly frustrating. I have to re-read things several times, but it still doesn't go in.
  • Return to employment (although I don't know when or to do what yet).

Blogging Every Day in August: A photo of us (Day 2)

Sarah at Yummy Mummy In Training has set herself a challenge of blogging every day in August and has listed her prompts. As my blogging is a bit hit and miss at the moment, I will be using her prompts to generate some ideas too.

Today's prompt is: A photo of us.

Whilst reading some blogs on Sunday, I saw a post someone had made of professional family photographs, it's something I've been thinking about for a while, so hopefully will get booked soon.

I enjoy taking photo's. I take photo's of Little Lady often, as you can probably tell from the blog!

We usually manage to get some pictures of her with Daddy, even if he does hate photographs!

I have even started to ask him to take pictures of me and Kiki too. As I realised during her 1st year I think we have four pictures of us.

But as I'm usually the one behind the camera, we only have one picture of mummy, daddy, and Little Lady!

That is shocking and we must rectify that!

Blogging Every Day in August: Greatest achievement (Day 1)

Sarah at Yummy Mummy In Training has set herself a challenge of blogging every day in August and has listed her prompts. As my blogging is a bit hit and miss at the moment, I will be using her prompts to generate some ideas too.

Today's prompt is: Greatest achievement

My first thought is (obviously) Little Lady.
She has made me a different person. She has changed my life, turned my world upside down, and shown me pain and pride I never would have experienced.

I'm sure anyone with children would agree that you would do anything for your child, especially when they are in pain and you would willingly take all the pain in the world, if it would just make them better.

But the opposite end of that is the pride you feel at their 'firsts'. I love watching Kiki's face when she discovers something new.

I was bursting with pride when she pulled herself up to standing for the first time.

She is a beautiful, happy child and I know that is to do with me (and daddy) and how we raise her.

In my own personal life, I've overcome some struggles, although depression and related problems are still a massive influence on my life, and am getting stronger every day. It's still an uphill struggle, but I am trying to keep going!
